INSPIRED: AMERICAN SURFACES

Everyday something different happens. Everyday something new comes about. This first project, American Surfaces, shows the everyday feature of the day-to-day and not features a short, yet long, term time capsule of a photo a day, for three months. Catherine Yoon's features 76 square images all in Black and White, a choice made to create a flow and additive forms of the dullness of 2020, yet how they all build together for glimpses of more positive memories. These photographs truly capture the desires to be "out of the box" and "in color," yet show how the juxtaposition of all by being in such rigid form.
